Curds & Whey - Squeezing out undesirables

As I approach the challenge, tomorrow is day 1, I am packing my tool kit to set myself up for a successful challenge. The first thing I am putting in the bag is my mantra "what you focus on expands". With this in mind I will primarily build my challenge around things I want rather than things I don't want. In doing so I expand on positives in my life and squeeze the undesirables through the muslin, leaving me with a big ball of positives.

So what are my desirable's around red wine?

A large part of this challenge is centred around routine for me. Particularly nighttime routine, which also anchors your morning routine. Transitioning from work to personal life is difficult for me and it is a fine balance between working so hard I crash into my personal life and turning off the computer while I am still energized. Therefore a lot of my challenge and desirable's will be based on elements I will be experimenting with in my night time routine.
  • Calmness
  • Meditation
  • Support
  • Transition/unwinding
  • Extreme self care - pampering-indulging my senses
  • Yoga
  • Preparing for the next day
  • Leaving a clean kitchen to embrace in the morning
  • Short walk around the block to bring me back into the present
  • Fun with Sofie
  • One on one time with Kirk
  • Creative expression
  • Indulging in music, film, TV I enjoy and that stimulates me

I am definately sensing a theme here. I think my title for my challenge will be

"100 Evenings of Indulgence".

Whenever I work with clients on any of my programs the first thing I do is to encourage them to clearly define the program for themselves and then own it by giving it a title or theme. This is a great way to begin a strong commitment and bond with the material. When you clearly feel a connection between yourself and what you are doing you are much more likely to invest in it. As much as I love the title "The Zen of Red Wine" I think I will save that for the book; it focuses on the negative and would pull me back rather than naturally pushing forward like "100 Evenings of Indulgence". Now that is something I want to focus on.
